Why I do it myself
I grew up in a house my dad built, and it always needed something. Most weekends, I was helping him fix it.
When I got a place of my own, I planned to pay someone for everything. Then I saw the prices, and too many of the people I did pay cut corners anyway. So I started doing it myself. It began as a way to save money. Now I do it because I like the result: a job done right, and usually something new learned along the way.
Why the videos
I’ve always wanted to teach. For a while that meant coding videos, but writing code all day at the day job and again at night burned me out. While I was building my camper, with a lot of help from YouTube, I kept thinking it would make a good channel. Eventually I switched my channel over to DIY.
